This was a really long story and for the most part I found
it dull besides the imagery and description used throughout the story. In the
first paragraph I really enjoy the description that the author uses and it
paints an image in my head and the sensory images really bring it to life for
me. It is a little boring to get into at first but for me the detail keeps me
reading. It is sad about the vanished husband, and how she only gets to hear
his voice over the phone. I like the description about what was in the boxes and
the line “You know he’s turning over a new leaf when he leaves the Rolling
Stones behind.” Really made me laugh because I can relate to that. To me the
scientists seem really stuck up and think they know everything there is to know
when in fact they do not. It kind of opens my eyes. Like the scene where they
put out there cigarettes as if it was a sin to smoke, they are trying to hide who
they really are behind their appearance. I feel bad for her when she finds out the
news of the dead guy. The author was able to evoke some sympathy which is good.
Overall it was a sad story that seemed
to drag on for me at least, the author was good at description and overall
getting the message across but it was way too long and not enough interest to
keep me going on reading it really, there were definitely some parts that the
author could have left out and it the story still would have been great.
